An important step in living with a house rabbit is finding a good veterinarian. Rabbits fall under the "exotics" category in veterinary medicine, and they are very different to treat than cats and dogs, so if you have other pets, you may need to find an additional vet for your rabbit. To help you with your search we have provided a list of vets in North Carolina who treat exotics (including rabbits) as a regular part of their practice. The ones marked with an asterisk (*) are HRS members and volunteers use for their personal and foster rabbits. The others have had experience doing rabbit spays and neuters and have expressed interest in treating rabbits and being on the HRS vet list. This list is not an endorsement by the House Rabbit Society, but simply some place for you to start looking, we always recommend that each person screen and select the vet who best meets their own criteria.
